Greensboro Mayor Nancy Vaughan announces reelection campaign

Greensboro Mayor Nancy Vaughan announced her intent to run for reelection Saturday.

In a video message shared on Facebook, Mayor Vaughan stated:

“It has been my honor to be your mayor for almost eight years. I am asking for another four. I’ve taken decisive action and I have always put you and your family first. Always have and always will. I love our City and our rich diversity. Just like family, we may not always agree but you always know where I stand. I stand with you to make Greensboro the best place to live, work, play and go to school. Together we can do anything.”

She noted that she chose Valentine’s Day weekend to announce her reelection because of her love for the city. Through tornadoes, an earthquake, floods, a pandemic and other hardships, she said she has been by people’s sides.

“We are blessed to live in a city rich in diversity,” Mayor Vaughan said.

She said she plans to listen to what issues are at the heart of Greensboro and lead by example.

“It’s simple,” Mayor Vaughan said. “The people of Greensboro come first.”

She continued to speak about how the city is positioned to enhance its economy post-pandemic.
